    Bayliner 4588

    Wallingford, Washington
    1990
    $150,000

Salty Dog is a 1990 Bayliner 4588 pilothouse which is an ideal vessel for exploring the stunning Pacific Northwest or unforgettable trips along the inside passage to Alaska. This well-maintained boat has undergone significant upgrades, as we had plans to enjoy summers cruising the San Juans, Gulf Islands, and beyond. However, we must reluctantly part with Salty Dog due to a health issue. If you've dreamed of taking long summer cruises, we encourage you to seize the opportunity, whether aboard Salty Dog or another vessel. Twin diesel engines and a remote-controlled bow thruster make Salty Dog an easy boat to pilot. We moved up from a 28'' and found Salty Dog easier to maneuver and more fuel efficient than our previous boat. Step inside to discover a spacious salon and galley area with three staterooms, two full heads, and ample storage. The salon features a custom dining/coffee table that adjusts in height and expands to double its size. On the starboard side, you'll find a guest chair, storage, and a well-equipped bar with a sink and a pop-up dispenser for non-carbonated beverages. Please note that the bar currently requires a new pump, which is readily available from the manufacturer. The galley boasts a built-in blender for refreshing margaritas. The double-sided sink features a pull-out faucet and a conveniently located nearby trash compactor. The countertop provides generous prep space, with hidden storage accessible through a hatch. On the other side of the galley, you'll find a space for a coffee maker, a gas (propane) stove, an oven with a custom wooden cover showcasing the Salty Dog logo, and two cleats functioning as handles. The cover doubles as a galley prep space, an hors d'oeuvres serving tray, or a cutting board. An AC/DC refrigerator/freezer completes the galley, and there is ample storage throughout, including stowage under the salon settee. Moving forward and down a few steps, you'll find the companionway leading to the cabins and heads. The main guest cabin is immediately to the port side, while the guest head is located to starboard. The guest head features storage behind a large mirror, a vacuflush toilet, and a shower. Further down the companionway to starboard, you'll find the built-in vacuum system and easy access to the bilge space. The owner's cabin is positioned all the way forward and features a comfortable raised queen bed with walk-around access (mostly). Storage drawers and three hanging closets are conveniently located at the base of the berth. Aft of the owner's cabin, on the starboard side, you'll find the master head with an ample mirror offering storage, a new electric toilet, and a small fully enclosed tub with a shower. On the port side is the third cabin with two bunk beds that converts into a dressing area. This versatile cabin can be configured to expand the master stateroom or completely enclosed for use as a guest berth. In either configuration, the area provides ample storage with drawers and cabinets. Moving back to the salon and ascending a few steps, you'll enter the well-appointed pilothouse, which includes guest seating for three just aft of the helm. All interior seating areas have been upgraded with durable Ultra Leather. The pilothouse features doors on both sides for easy access and excellent visibility. Four steps up from the pilothouse, you'll reach the fully enclosed flybridge, complete with a captain's chair and two settees—perfect for entertaining or simply enjoying a nap. The flybridge canvas easily opens up for delightful summer cruising. The flybridge offers excellent visibility around the boat and serves as the preferred station for docking. The upper deck is just aft of the flybridge, always basking in sunshine and serving as an excellent spot for morning coffee, yoga sessions, or simply taking in the sunset. It's a favorite location when at anchor. The fully enclosed cockpit awaits aft of the salon. Steps on both sides provide convenient boarding options. The cockpit features a hard ceiling from the deck above and boasts new (2019) custom canvas with rigid "glass" sheets. The floor is covered with Raptor Deck EVA teak. Three large hatches offer storage and access to the generator, diesel heater, and steering controls. A built-in table with Raptor Deck folds up or down as needed. There are 110V AC and 12V DC outlets, including one that can power a downrigger if you wish to catch your own salmon dinner. Just aft of the cockpit, you'll find an expansive swim step and a rear davit, making launching and retrieving the tender a breeze. Both the swim platform and davit feature Raptor Deck. The rear davit is a fantastic design from thedingydavit.com. When fully lowered via a wireless remote, the swim deck nearly doubles in size, including an area right at the waterline. Even with the dinghy raised on the davit, there is still plenty of room to walk unimpeded across the swim step. The swim step also includes a removable BBQ grill plumbed to use the same propane as the galley range. The davit system and rear decking are among our favorite upgrades. Heading to the bow, you'll find slim walk-around decks on both sides for easy fender placement or removing the mesh window coverings outside the salon. The spacious bow area features a built-in bench with removable cushions and ample room to add more chairs for entertaining. It is also an ideal spot to store kayaks or SUPs using the mounting brackets outside the rails. The non-skid areas on the bow, side deck, flybridge, and upper aft deck have been recently painted, giving a fresh look. Salty Dog offers exceptional value as one of the finest PNW boats in this price range. She is well-equipped for year-round cruising with its pilothouse and hydronic diesel heat. She's ready to embark on new adventures, fully prepared and priced to sell quickly.
